Now it happens again: The Dresden Philharmonic Children’s Choir invites guests from all over the world to the International Children’s Choir Festival in Dresden. For a week, choirs from China, India, Canada, Korea, Japan and Germany will sing together and build bridges of friendship and understanding as expressed by the slogan of our festival. Professor Kurt Masur, on whose initiative the Dresden Philharmonic Children’s Choir was established in 1967, is the patron of this year’s festival. We want to thank him very much. Our thanks also go to the schools and pupils of Dresden who accommodate the guests and provide an interesting fringe programme as well as an eventful farewell party. Last, but not least, I want to thank all sponsors and supporters who help to make such an event happen. May the audience enjoy the colourful music and the atmosphere of the festival.
